South Pacific is one of the most popular musicals of all time and one of my favorites. After almost 60 years the show stands the test of time with stories and themes as important today as they were in 1949. Add to that the wonderful score with some of the most memorable songs ever written and you have what some have called the best musical of all time. The show has won every conceivable award including the Pulitzer Prize, was made into a movie twice and new recordings of the music are as recent as April, 2006. I hope you enjoy our production of South Pacific; we had a lot of fun putting it together. Let me take this time to thank all the members of the production staff who have worked so hard and especially Andrew Dodge, who does more things then we realize and who has always been a great friend, help and support to me.
